Payments that keep the script queue moving.

SwiftPay sets up Clover and Nuvei for pharmacies — a till at the front, a till at the dispensary, and one set of totals at close. Scripts, retail lines and click-and-collect orders all ring up the same way.

What Pharmacy operators use it for

  • Take payment at the dispensary counter
  • Ring scripts and retail on one sale
  • Prompt for ID on restricted lines
  • Hand over click-and-collect orders
  • Keep a second register open at peak
  • Bill aged-care and account customers

Through the day

From the dispensary to the front of shop

A pharmacy runs two shops at once. The system has to hold both without slowing either down.

Dispensary counter

Pay for the script where it's handed over, not back at the front till.

  • Ring the dispensed item and the two things the patient picked up on the way through as one sale, with one receipt.
  • Flag pseudoephedrine and other restricted lines so the screen asks for an ID or age check before the sale goes through.
  • Leave the health fund or claiming terminal where it is. It keeps its own line and the till takes what the patient still owes.
  • Hold a waiting script under the customer's name and close it off when they come back in the afternoon.
Front of shop

The retail side runs at its own pace, on the same system.

  • Scan vitamins, formula, sunscreen and fragrance off the shelf, with stock counts moving down as they sell.
  • Open a second register for the Saturday morning rush without staff learning a second system.
  • Load the month's catalogue pricing in one go, then take it off again when the month ends.
  • Small debit taps add up all day, and EFTPOS least-cost routing sends them down the cheaper rails (AU).
Orders and close-off

Work that starts away from the counter still finishes on it.

  • Take click-and-collect and delivery orders through a Nuvei checkout on your own site, paid before staff pick them.
  • Send a payment link for a phone order instead of reading a card number back down the line.
  • Invoice aged-care homes and account customers, and see what's still outstanding.
  • Close the front register and the dispensary till into one set of totals at the end of the day.

The kit

What we usually put in a pharmacy

Nothing here is fixed. It is where most operators in your trade land, and we quote to your counter, not to a template.

Clover Station Duo payment terminal
Where most pharmacies start

Clover Station Duo

A pharmacy front counter trades all day, so the Station Duo puts a 14-inch screen in front of the staff member and a display of its own in front of the patient, who reads the total and taps on their own side. The printer and cash drawer are part of the unit, and a scanned retail basket and a dispensed line go through as the same sale, so nobody is sent to a second counter to pay.

Clover Mini

Fits the dispensary end of the counter where a full station won't, and gives the script queue a till of its own.

Clover Flex

Carry it into the consult room after a vaccination or a blood pressure check, or out to a customer who can't easily walk back to the counter.

PAX A920 Pro

A Nuvei handheld with a printer in it for the delivery run to a nursing home or a housebound customer.

Works with what you run

It has to fit the rest of your business

A till that will not talk to your accountant just moves the work somewhere else. These are the connections that matter most in your trade.

Accounting

Push the day's takings to Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks through the Clover App Market, so the bookkeeper isn't retyping totals off two tills. Tell us which market you trade in and we'll confirm what's live. The apps on the list differ between Australia, the US and Canada, so check with us first.

Rostering & payroll

Rosters and timesheets for dispensary and shop-floor staff can run on Deputy, ADP or Gusto, which sit in the Clover App Market. The named apps aren't the same in Australia, the US and Canada, so we check yours first.

Online orders & click-and-collect

Nuvei runs the checkout on your own site for click-and-collect, delivery and phone orders, with payment links for anything taken on the shop phone.

Dispensing software

SwiftPay doesn't replace your dispensing system, and we won't promise a link we haven't checked. Dispensing software differs by country, so tell us what you run and we'll tell you what can talk to what.

Apps are added and withdrawn market by market. Tell us what you already run and we will confirm what is live for you before you commit — see the Clover App Market.
