Keep the front end moving at five o'clock.

Clover runs every register the same way — fast taps on each lane, scanners and cash drawers where they belong, and EFTPOS least-cost routing to trim what debit costs you (AU). SwiftPay supplies, installs and supports the lot.

What Supermarkets operators use it for

  • Keep every lane tapping at peak hour
  • Ring up a full trolley without a stall
  • Route debit down the cheaper network (AU)
  • Train a new casual in one shift
  • Count stock without shutting a lane
  • Cash up every till at close

Through the day

From the lane to the back office

At this volume small differences compound — seconds at the lane, cents on the debit rate.

Front lanes

Every register is built the same, so the queue keeps moving.

  • Scan and tender from one screen while the customer-facing display shows the running total and takes the PIN.
  • Tap, chip, swipe, phone and watch on every lane, so nobody gets waved over to another register.
  • Debit-heavy baskets get least-cost routing on eftpos, trimming what each tap costs you (AU).
  • Open a spare lane when the queue builds. It's already priced and laid out like the others.
Back of store

Prices, stock and shrink, handled between deliveries.

  • Change a price or load the weekly specials once and every lane rings the new price.
  • Check an on-hand count on a Clover Flex in the aisle instead of walking back to the office.
  • See what's moving by department, so the order to your wholesaler isn't guesswork.
  • Voids, refunds and no-sales are stamped with the lane and the staff login, which is where shrink shows up first.
Close of trade

Count the drawers, read the day, hand it to the bookkeeper.

  • Cash up drawer by drawer against what each lane says it took.
  • One end-of-day report across every register, instead of a pile of separate reads.
  • Sales split by lane, by hour and by tender, so next week's roster matches the peak.
  • Send the figures on to the bookkeeper without anyone reading them off a printout.

The kit

What we usually put in a supermarket

Nothing here is fixed. It is where most operators in your trade land, and we quote to your counter, not to a template.

Clover Station Duo payment terminal
Where most supermarkets start

Clover Station Duo

The dual screen is the right shape for a grocery lane: the operator scans and tenders on the 14-inch merchant screen while the customer watches the total build and enters their PIN on a display of their own. It pairs with the cash drawer, scanner and scale the lane needs, so one lane build repeats cleanly down the whole front end.

Clover Flex

A handheld with the scanner and printer in it: price checks in the aisle, click-and-collect handovers at the door, and an extra pair of hands on a Saturday queue.

Clover Mini

Small enough for the service desk or the tobacco kiosk, where a full lane won't fit but you still want a proper till and a printed receipt.

Clover Kiosk

Put self-serve ordering in front of the deli or hot-food counter, so customers order and pay themselves while your staff keep carving and wrapping.

Works with what you run

It has to fit the rest of your business

A till that will not talk to your accountant just moves the work somewhere else. These are the connections that matter most in your trade.

Accounting

Each day's sales, refunds and tender types can feed Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks through the Clover App Market. What's connected depends on your market, so ask us before you commit to a workflow. The apps on the list differ between Australia, the US and Canada, so check with us first.

Rostering & payroll

Build the front-end roster and track hours with apps such as Deputy, ADP or Gusto from the Clover App Market. Availability differs between Australia, the US and Canada.

Online ordering & delivery

If you run a deli or hot-food counter, DoorDash and Uber Eats sit in the Clover App Market for delivery and pickup, if those partners are live where you trade.

Online & account payments

Take home-delivery, wholesale and account payments on the web through Nuvei, under the same SwiftPay relationship as the lanes in store.

Apps are added and withdrawn market by market. Tell us what you already run and we will confirm what is live for you before you commit — see the Clover App Market.

Done for you

We set it up, then we stay on the end of the phone

You are buying an installation and a local contact, not a carton.

Installed on site

We deliver, mount and configure the hardware in your premises — not a box in the post.

Loaded before handover

Your products, prices and modifiers are built in before we hand the system over.

Your team trained

Hands-on training so every shift can take payments, run refunds and cash up.
